Terms of service

YakWire sets up business email on your own domain. These are the terms for that service, provided by Kelpie HQ Pty Ltd (ABN 40 698 837 295), trading as YakWire. Ticking the box on the enquiry form means you agree to them on behalf of your business.

What we do

We set up business email for you and the people you list on the enquiry form. That means registering a new domain or connecting the one you already have, setting up Google Workspace, configuring the DNS records email needs, creating an inbox for each person, and giving your accountant their own access if you want it. We aim to have it working within one business day of having everything we need from you.

The fee

Our fee is $337 (AUD), paid once. There is no subscription to us and no ongoing charge. If you want help with something later, we quote it as a separate one-off job before we start.

Google Workspace and your domain are separate. You pay Google and the domain registrar directly, on your own card, at their published prices, and those costs renew with them, not with us.

What we do in your name

By agreeing to these terms you authorise us to:

  • register a domain in your business's name, or connect the one you have, using your details and your card;
  • set up Google Workspace for your business and act as an administrator of it while we do the setup;
  • create the accounts and recovery details for you and the people you list, using the details you give us.

The domain and the Google Workspace account are yours. They are registered and billed in your name, and they keep working whether or not you ever deal with us again. We remove our administrator access at handover unless you ask us to keep it so we can help later. You can remove it yourself at any time.

Referral fee from Google

We sign you up to Google Workspace through our referral link, and Google pays us a referral fee when you do. It does not change what you pay Google. We tell you this so there is no doubt about why we recommend Google Workspace: it is the product we know and set up well, and it also pays us a fee.

Where your DNS lives

Your domain's DNS records are hosted in YakWire's Cloudflare account at no extra cost. That lets us set the records email needs and keep them right. Your domain stays registered to you; only the DNS hosting sits with us.

If you want to move on, tell us. We will give you an export of your DNS records and either move the domain's nameservers to a DNS host of your choosing or walk you through doing it, so your email and website keep working through the change. We keep the records hosted for 30 days after that, then remove them. If we ever stop offering the service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and the same export and help.

Your part

  • You confirm you are authorised to act for the business and to agree to these terms on its behalf.
  • The details you give us are accurate, and the people you list have agreed to have an account set up for them.
  • You agree to Google's and your domain registrar's terms when you sign up with them, and you are responsible for paying them.
  • You keep the recovery email and phone for each account up to date, because that is how a lost password gets reset.

Your details

We use the details from the enquiry form to set up your email and to contact you about it. Each person's personal email and mobile are used as the recovery details for their account. We do not sell or share your details with anyone except the services we set up for you.

If something goes wrong

Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Beyond those, if we get something wrong, we will fix it, and our liability to you is limited to the fee you paid us. We are not responsible for Google's or your registrar's services, outages or pricing.

Changes

If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. Changes apply to setups that start after the change.
